Oasis in the City
The PLAY-TIME apartment project, located in Ciudad Lineal, Madrid, reinforces the idea of an urban oasis by providing each unit with its own private terrace and surrounding the building with lush vegetation.
Organized with two units per floor around a central vertical core that houses the elevator and utilities, each apartment is independently oriented, adapting to the specific conditions of the urban environment.
A spiral staircase wraps around the building’s perimeter, generating dynamic architectural movement, while the apartments face away from it, preserving their privacy.

Treehouses and Green Tapestry
The plant selection takes into account factors such as type (evergreen or deciduous), color, fruiting, blooming periods, fragrance, and texture, creating a natural tapestry that provides solar and thermal control, enhances privacy, and offers residents a multi-sensory experience. This vegetation becomes a central architectural element, delivering both aesthetic and functional benefits and creating an immersive experience for residents in harmony with nature.

Structural Innovation and Flexibility
The structural design responds to both spatial and functional needs. With each floor slightly offset from the one below, the building takes on an organic spiral form that maximizes terrace space and reduces the need for traditional vertical cores. The solution was to separate vertical circulation into two main elements: a central elevator core and a staircase located at the rear of each unit. This approach allowed the building’s structure to also serve as a support for a vertical garden, using the outer frame to house planters and integrate green elements directly into the architecture.
